Summer Journey

...with Paul and friends

The first followers of Jesus were initially reluctant to do anything with moneywhat they had just experienced.  The one thing they DID do, was wait in Jerusalem for the promised Holy Spirit. When the Holy Spirit came upon them they received a power and a passion to tell everyone about the good news of Jesus.  Along with this came a level of persecution, which forced many of them to flee Jerusalem.  And so they traveled. And as they did, they told other Jewish people about Jesus, their promised Messiah.

Later, a new follower of Jesus was empowered to take things up a notch.  His name is Paul. And he traveled too. In fact, he traveled all over what was most of the known world at the time. And he didn’t limit his audience to Jewish people.

This summer we are going to drop in on some of  the travels of the early church and mostly focus on Paul's travels and see what we can learn from his travelogue. And as we do, we will be asking God to help us catch some of the spirit and passion Paul and others had as they encountered different people of different cultures, languages and religions. Much like the people we live among today.

Your "travel guides" each Sunday will make it fun! If you're a geography lover, you will love this series and if you enjoy an exciting story with incredible outcomes, this will be right down your alley.  And if you love to look at scripture and learn from those who have gone before us, you won't be disappointed.
