Reflecting God in What We Do
Probably the biggest source of metaphors for God is from the world of our life/work roles. 
This includes roles that are paid (e.g. jobs) and unpaid. No one life/work role encapsulates all that God is, so He points to a wide diversity of roles that bring forth His attributes.
An understanding of this wide diversity of life/work roles that God chooses to call Himself will show God’s people that we are to see our life/work roles as ones that can reflect the living God.
