Valerie is multi-ethnic mama to four spirited humans. She originally hails from California and moved to metro Vancouver with her longtime sweetheart/husband who came to study at Regent. She also studied at Regent and received her diploma in Christian studies. Regent was very formative in their family’s own spiritual growth and values. They have had the privilege of living and raising their family in beautiful BC for the past 10 years. 

Valerie is incredibly passionate about connecting with others and building healthy communities. One of her favourite parts of ministry is creating meaningful rituals/experiences that help children form an embodied theology. Her greatest hope for the church is that it will be a community of believers that encourage one another to feel more at home with the authentic self that Christ is forming inside of each of us  

You can usually find Valerie hanging out with her children as an unexpected homeschool mom, she loves the freedom this type of learning provides their family. When she’s not with her crew she enjoys listening to audiobooks while making up a cozy home. She loves to cook a wide variety of cuisines, especially when she gets to share meals with others. Valerie loves to laugh and hosting a good party, but is very much at peace in the quiet moments she can find throughout her day.
