Study Questions
Acts 2:22-24 & 36-38
In v. 22 Peter declares the “things” Jesus did (mighty works and wonders and signs). Why do you think he felt a need to include this information?
In v. 23 Peter is pointing his accusatory finger at those who killed Jesus. If you had been standing in that crowd, how do you think you might have received his words?
In v.24 Peter declares the resurrection of Jesus. Why was the resurrection the one thing that definitively proved Jesus' deity?
In v. 36-37 Peter declares the new position of Jesus (“Lord & Christ”) and those who heard where “Cut to the Heart.” Explain what you think it means to be “Cut to the Heart.”
Can you speak of a time when you were “Cut to the Heart”?
In v. 38 Peter tells those who were asking what they could do: Repent and be Baptized. Explain what repentance means to you. Why is repentance so important?
Finally, in v. 38 Peter gives them the good news of the Holy Spirit. Why is this good news? What are the implications of someone having the Holy Spirit in their lives when they accept “repent” and accept Jesus?
