Dean was born in southern Alberta and grew up on a farm.  Upon finishing high school, he attended Trinity Western College in Langley, BC.  After living on the west coast for those 2 years he decided to stay and later finished his education at UBC.  During those years he met Linda whom he married, and they have 3 children and now 5 grandchildren.  He is retired from being a gardener and property manager, and enjoys cycling with Linda and friends and spending time with family and friends.

Three verses that have guided Dean are: 

a)  “We love Him because He first loved us”,

b)  “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, and mind”, and,

c)  “Love your neighbour as yourself."
