The 3D Gospel for Everyone
Western theology emphasizes legal forgiveness of sins, but people in the "Maj
ority World" seek honour or spiritual power. In the globalized world that exists in the lower mainland, we need a three-dimensional story of good news, one that reaches all cultures.
This series will explore areas of Guilt, Shame & Fear and how each of these are present in the variety of cultures represented in our very own neighbourhoods.
We will learn how the good news of Jesus is relevant to all of these cultures, but also that cookie cutter methods are not effective.
A missionary mindset asks how the Gospel can both challenge and affirm aspects of our current culture and point to Jesus. Paul teaches that everyone is on the same level before God. In our modern culture, the opposite message may be most challenging—that the Gospel challenges our individualism and calls us to be part of a family.
